Most weeks, you will find the French words of the week in your child’s agenda. Please remove the words and post the words somewhere your child can see them (on the fridge, in his/her bedroom). These words reflect the current theme in the classroom. Please review them with your child on a regular basis and understand that students will be asked to spell the words using classroom resources during writing activities, as well as to use and recognize them in oral class activities.
If you are unsure of the pronunciation of any French words, please use this page to help in pronouncing and understanding of the words.
Here are some activities that you can do with your child to review the words of the week:
- Flashcards (word on one side, picture on the other),
- Memory Game (word on one card and picture on the other to be matched up)
- BINGO Game (Pictures in chart, call out the word)
- Label pictures or objects around your home
- Use funny voices to say the words (e.g., baby, muscle man, witch, mouse etc.)
- Or download the Tic Tac Toe practice sheet below for more ideas
Thank-you for your support with the words of the week,
Mlle. Mohorovich
