Learning Skills
Each learning skill plays a large role in your child's progress at school. Students will learn and have an understanding of what each of them mean and how they will be assessed in class and your support at home will help your child be successful this year.
Here is a brief explanation of each (these will change as the year progresses):
Responsibility: I listen attentively during learning time
Organization: I quickly organize myself at my locker and come to class prepared
Independent Work: I stay focused on my work and I am respectful of others learning (e.g., I allow others to focus on their work)
Collaboration: I use polite language when talking to or working with others
Initiative: I do my best work
Self-Regulation: I ask for help when I need it.
